壓力和挑戰，去爭取出線權 14th Anniversary Celebration for Fundraiser part 3
The speech of 娛樂，運動，比賽部長 HON Tom Kenyon MP
I am sorry that I am unable to attend personally tonight, but would like to pass on my thanks to the Dinner organisers and most importantly best wishes to Leanne as she strives to fulfil a dream and compete in the London Olympic Games next year. I understand that Leanne is in fact in London right now, and will be competing tomorrow in the first Round of Doubles at the Yonex BWF World Championships Tournament at the Wembley Arena. I am sure all of us here tonight send her our very best wishes and best of luck.
Leanne is an outstanding young athlete and ambassador for her sport, her community, this state and nation. We can all be very proud of her achievements in Badminton and particularly her representation at World Championships, Youth Olympics, Youth Commonwealth Games and the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.
The quest to achieve selection and qualify to represent your country at an Olympic Games is demanding and a lifelong dream of most athletes. The Government has proudly supported Leanne in this quest through South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) Scholarships over a number of years and her achievements in Badminton at such a young age have been remarkable.
Leanne, I wish you every success in your quest for selection at the London Olympics. The next few months will be a hectic, and exciting, period of international travel to tournaments to maintain your international ranking and qualify for selection. I am sure you will be up to the challenge, and I urge you to savour this truly unique experience.
2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.
